Trellis

Troubleshooting

Common problems, and what to check first.

A banner says the library drive is not connected

Reconnect the drive. The banner clears itself within half a minute, or immediately on Check again.

A folder sitting where the drive should be mounted means macOS has mounted the share under a different name: eject it, delete the leftover folder, and mount it again.

Add Recording will not accept my folder

Source folders have to sit on the library drive, under /Volumes, or in your home folder.

A folder’s files are listed as unsupported

Trellis ingests FLAC, MP3 and WAV. Anything else is counted and named in the queue.

Converting SHN or WAV fails

That step needs ffmpeg. Install it with Homebrew and run the row again. The files it replaces are moved into _originals/ inside the folder.

A show came in as two recordings

The sets were not detected. Trellis reads them from subfolder names such as CD 1 or disc two. See multi-disc shows.

Tracks are numbered 1, 1, 2, 2

Same cause. With the sets undetected, the track numbers in the files were trusted, and those restart on each set.

AI Assist says there is no key

Paste one under AI assistance in Settings and click Save key. See the research assistant.

A checksum failed

An MD5 covers the whole file, tags included, so any tag edit flips a match to a mismatch. See checksums and fingerprints.

A shared library will not open

The address is down, the tunnel is closed, or the far end revoked your access. See joining a library.
