Playing recordings

The player, the queue, the waveform, and skipping the tuning.

The player

A bar at the foot of the window: previous, play and pause, next, a scrubber, the skip toggle, a volume slider and AirPlay. Clicking the track name takes you to the recording it came from.

Play All on a recording loads its tracks as the queue. Previous and next move within that queue, and a finished track is followed by the next.

Waveform

A banner across the top of a recording page, drawn from peaks worked out when the recording was analyzed. It shows the track playing now, and you click or drag in it to seek. It is absent on recordings that have not been analyzed.

Skip non-music

A toggle in the player bar and on each recording’s action bar. It leaves out tracks flagged Announcement, Audience, Band Intros, Banter, Interview, Introduction or Tuning, and grays those rows in the track list.

The flags come from the track titles. Trellis suggests them while you add a recording and you approve them there; afterwards, right-click a track to turn flags on and off.

Favorites

A single star next to Add to Collection on a recording. Your stars stay on your own machine when you browse a library you have joined.

Admin and Playback

A toggle in the header, for accounts that can edit. Playback is the listening view: it hides the editing surfaces and the whole Details panel, so the track list gets the full width.

A library you have joined is always Playback.
